Frequently Asked Questions
Do you do commissions or commercial projects?
Yes! Depending on what it is, of course. If you want to get in touch about a potential project, I’d love to hear about it. I’m also open to doing personal type map portraits for yourself or as a gift for someone, and art for books you don’t see here. Read more about Custom Projects and my process.
Why isn’t there a type map of my favorite book?
While I do create art of popular books that I think people will enjoy, this collection is still very subjective and is mostly of books I’ve read and loved. If you don’t see a book here, please let me know!
What is a Giclée print?
It’s a fancy word for high-quality, archival, large format inkjet printing usually used for fine art or photo reproduction. The color is very saturated and smooth, and looks like a silk screen print. And I’m impressed with how the color matches what you see on Instagram. It’s exactly the same!
Will the prints last forever?
Nothing lasts forever, but they will hold up for generations. They’re printed with archival inks and on acid and lignin-free archival paper just in case you’re an archivist.
Why is there only two sizes for sale?
These look best in a larger format. The 12 x 12” size is the same size as an album cover and the Art really makes an impact at this size. You can buy 12” square ready-made frames, as well. The 8” square size is also nice for a smaller area and looks nice in a 12” white or black frame with a white matte.
What’s taking soooo long?
I am a one-woman shop and the prints are all made-to-order. Each piece is printed and shipped individually with loving care. Sometimes love takes time, but I’ll send you a tracking number and all that good stuff once it ships out. Please see Shipping for more information.
Will they arrive flat or rolled?
All prints are shipped flat in a photo mailer that does not bend. They will arrive flat and will be ready to hang or be framed as soon as you get them.
What hashtags or credit should I use?
I appreciate you sharing any photos on social media. If you feel like doing so please use the hashtag #typemaps and link back to @bookomatica on Instagram to help spread the word.
